The Tisbury school building committee will stick with the plan to build a new three-story school on the current school site, despite some community backlash.
At a nearly two-hour meeting Monday night, the committee heard opinions on both sides of the issue from more than 40 people, including parents, teachers, community members and representatives from town boards.
In the end the committee determined it did not need to revote the 11-5 decision it made on June 19 favoring new construction over renovation and expansion at the school. (read more)

Following a vote by the school building committee Monday night, Tisbury will pursue plans for an all-new three-story school on the current site. The committee voted 11-5 to opt for a new construction over a renovation addition. (read more)

The Tisbury elementary school will remain on its existing site follow a narrow vote by the school building committee Wednesday evening.
The committee voted 8-7 to remove an alternate location, the town-owned Manter well property off Holmes Hole Road on the outskirts of town, from consideration. (read more)

With a final vote expected in two weeks on where to site a new Tisbury School, town residents will have a final chance to add their opinions at a public forum tomorrow. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the school gymnasium. (read more)
