Construction Progress Update – 12/22/2023

Significant milestones have been achieved this month at the project site. The exterior masonry restoration and precast concrete replacement for the 1929/1995 buildings are now complete. Windows are being installed as the framing and sheathing of the new administration addition is completed. Inside the 1929 building, there is substantial progress – with rough-ins completed for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Suppression systems. Drywall and taping work for the interior partition walls moves forward, continuing the transformation of the space. On the ground floor of the 1929 building, the concrete slab-on-grade is in place, marking a pivotal point. Additionally, we have achieved a crucial schedule milestone: confirming the arrival of the electrical switch this month. On the new gymnasium and addition, the work on the superstructure is advancing impressively with the masonry brick veneer on track for completion by January 2024. Progress on the concrete slab on the deck is notable, while the Light Gauge Steel Wall systems are taking shape on the exterior of the building’s 2nd and 3rd floors. The building is set to be weather-tight by the end of December, and site drainage work is complete on the West and South sides. As we wrap up the year, the project stands as a testament to dedication and progress. We look forward to the continued success and completion of these transformative endeavors in the coming months.
