Construction Progress Update – 8/21/2023

The Tisbury School Addition and Renovation Project continues to progress as construction moves forward on the new gym and administration additions. The structural steel super-structure has been erected. Ironworkers are bolting up connections and installing steel decking in preparation for the concrete floor slab placements. Underground sanitary sewer piping is being installed for the new school. Sprayed acoustical ceiling applications have been completed on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the 1929 Building. Most of the interior partition framing work in the 1929 Building has been completed on the 2nd floor and is in progress on the 3rd floor. Electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, and HVAC rough-ins are being installed. On the first floor, the underground plumbing infrastructure is being installed and will be followed by concrete pour-backs at those locations. Masonry restoration of the exterior facades for the 1929 Building is underway with pieces of the existing decorative concrete elements removed for modeling and replication. Replacement of the structural steel lintels, brick work, and corrective work to the framing has been done on the window openings in preparation for the installation of the new windows. Underground utilities continue to be brought in by the site contractor and utility companies. The progress is amazing as we transform the school for the next phase of its service to the community as a multi-generational, state-of-the-art building, which will aid in providing the students with an educational foundation to enrich their lives.
